Expect Good Things

These past few weeks have been filled with powerful change for me. My beloved Sparty (the handsome boy on the right), who walked the path with me for the last 16 years, has finally returned home to source energy. He joined up with his brother Tahoe (the cutie on the left), who passed away a couple of years ago, and they have been whooping it up ever since!
Now, being a channel has certain benefits and one of them is that I get to stay connected with them in spirit. In love and playfulness (isn’t that what dogs are famous for?) they have been sending me a steady stream of messages and directives and I would like to share one of them with you.
“Expect Good Things!”
“Expect Good Things – You have no idea what is possible, but all things are possible. You just have to ask…”
How cool is that? Now granted, this is a message that came from two dogs famous for rolling in cow poop and raiding garbage cans, but still, what if every morning, we all woke up expecting good things to happen? And then, we went out into the world LOOKING for evidence of those good things, fully expecting to find them.
Can you just IMAGINE the possibilities?!??
There is an old saying that goes “Seeing is Believing”. But that isn’t true. What we believe we are going to see is actually what we do see.
There was a famous experiment done at Harvard University some years back in which six people-three in white shirts and three in black shirts-pass basketballs around. People watching the video were instructed to keep a silent count of the number of passes made by the people in white shirts. At some point, a gorilla strolls into the middle of the action, faces the camera and thumps its chest, and then leaves, spending nine seconds on screen.
Over HALF of the people watching the video NEVER SAW THE GORILLA!! My point is, what if all the “good things” you want in your life are like the gorilla in that video? Appearing right in front of you and then disappearing without ever having gotten your attention.
I’m pretty sure that if everyone who watched that video was told that a gorilla was going to appear, they would have been looking for it and the percentage of people who actually SAW the gorilla would have been much higher.
Well, now you’ve been told! Expect Good Things! Can you just imagine what is going to happen as you start looking around with the expectation that good things are going show up? When they do, post a note on my blog and let us know what they were!
Wishing you possibilities BEYOND your expectations!
